WHO DAT!

Hi everyone,
What an incredible game! I hope that each and every one of you watched that amazing game on Saturday. :) In honor of the upcoming NFC Championship (hosted in New Orleans for the first time....ever.....), we are taking the week off from (new) spirals! In addition to this, I am giving 7th graders an extra TWO days to get the spiral turned in (originally due tomorrow). We did not have a chance to review some of the material and I would like to do so this week. So to recap, 7th grade spiral #13, originally due tomorrow, will be due this Thursday instead. Your test however is still tomorrow. Test will cover Ch. 6 Sections 1 & 2 only, section 3 will not even be bonus. :) We will briefly cover section 3 after this week, but will move on to Chapter 7 next.
6th grade, your spiral is still due tomorrow, no tests this week for you. Everyone did very well on the coordinate plane quiz, you will get those grades back tomorrow.
See you tomorrow! I hope that you had a wonderful three days off from school.
Mrs. Serpas
P.S. Smart boards should be installed when you get to school tomorrow! I am so excited!!!

Tests, etc.
Hello all,
This is my second day out...I do not have much of a speaking voice at all! I think it would be pretty challenging to teach without speaking. I plan to be at school tomorrow and hope to be able to talk. I wanted to post a few pictures from 6th grade's graphing. We have been working on the coordinate system and graphing, I will attach some pictures of recent group-work.
Test dates remain the same. 6th grade has a quiz tomorrow on 6.8, the review sheet went home Wednesday. We will have a review Friday during class before the quiz, I expect everyone to do a great job.
7th grade test remains Tuesday. Section 3, which we will go over tomorrow, will be on the test as BONUS ONLY. We will review for test tomorrow. The work I assigned in class yesterday and today is also test review, expect those types of problems on Tuesday's test.
Please email me if you have any questions!

Brrr!
Hi everyone,
I hope you stayed warm and dry this weekend! To my 7th hour/homeroom: I will say it.....I was WRONG! I said in class on Thursday that I couldn't imagine why we would be off on Friday, and boy was I wrong. :) I hope you enjoyed the unexpected three-day weekend.
Change of dates now. Spirals are still due TOMORROW, Tuesday, January 12th. Test dates will change, 7th grade test will be Tuesday, January 19th.
Tests will still cover the same information: 6th grade: Chapter 6 Section 8 (Coordinate System), and 7th grade Chapter 6 Sections 1-3. Review sheets will go home today.
Another big change; 6th grade we will come back to the rest of Chapter 6 (integers) at a later date. We will be picking up with Chapter 10, Geometry, after we finish with the Coordinate System.
Have a great week!

Welcome back!
Week of January 5th
Hello everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful holiday! It's time to get back into the groove, and the first spirals of the new year were passed out Tuesday and are due next Tuesday, January 12th. 6th grade will be spending time on 6.8 this week, the Coordinate plane. We will then move backwards and pick up with the first sections of the chapter covering integers. This material is VERY IMPORTANT and the integer rules must be memorized and applied!!! Quiz Wednesday, January 13th, covering 6.8.
7th grade -starting Chapter 6 this week, solving multi-step equations and equations with variables on each side. Quiz on Ch. 6 Sections 1-3 next week, Wednesday, January 13th.
Keep up with your homework and get those spirals turned in on time! Remember, no late credit for spirals as they are worth five points. Traditionally grades seem to slump in the third nine weeks, so put forth your best efforts.
Let me know if you have any questions and have a great week!
