Week of November 26th

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and week off of school!

Reminder: Spirals due Tuesday, November 27th

Once spirals have been passed out, it is the student's responsibility to make a copy from a friend if they have lost theirs.

6th grade: We are continuing in Chapter 4 this week. No quizzes or tests.

7th grade: We are starting solving and graphing inequalities this week. No quizzes or tests.

Week of November 12th

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend!

We have another busy week ahead in preparation for the Thanksgiving holidays.

6th grade: Spiral goes home Tuesday 11/13 and is due the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, 11/27 (no spiral due this week). Quiz Thursday 11/14- Review sheet went home Friday.

7th grade: Test Thursday 11/14- Review sheet went home Friday. This test is worth 100 points! Calculators allowed on this one. Please work problems to prepare for the test.

B.     Order fractions from least to greatest using LCD

II. 3.1 Solving Equations Using Addition or Subtraction pg. 109
          A. Solve addition & subtraction equations
          ***Change all subtraction problems to adding the opposite BEFORE  
               working problem.


III. 3.2 Solving Equations Using Multiplication or Division pg. 113
A.    Solve multiplication and division equations.
***Remember you must use the opposite or inverse operations to solve. Also, sign stays same in multiplication and division

IV. 3.3 Solving Two-Step Equations pg. 119
A.    Solve equations
B.     Use SCV: 1.) Change all Subtraction to adding the opposite before working problem 2.)  Get Constants on one side 3.) Solve for Variable

V. 3.4 Writing Two-Step Equations pg. 124
          A. Write and solve two-step equations (see ex. 1 & 2 pg. 124-125)

VI. 3.6 Graphing Inequalities pg. 140
A.    Graph inequalities (ex. 1 pg. 140)
***You will be tested on solving inequalities on the next test, this test is graphing only!

Week of November 5th

Hi everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend in spite of the loss yesterday :(

A few reminders: Spirals due Tuesday 11/6- both grades. 5th hour will need to turn their spirals in before they leave that day (5th - 7th hours will not meet due to early dismissal).

Both grades: No quizzes, tests or new spirals this week!!!!!!

6th grade: We will continue in Chapter 4 with Least Common Denominator

7th grade: We will continue with 2-step equations.
