6^th grade Math - Chapter 1 Test Review 100 points (Sec. 1 – 6)

4^th hour- Mrs. Serpas

Test is MONDAY, September 9^th

I. Equations and Mental Math (1.5) pg. 26

          A. Check possible solutions to equations (see ex. 1 pg. 26)

          B. Use Mental Math to solve equations (see ex. 2 pg. 27)

          C. Use distance formula, d = rt, to solve for missing information. This

             formula will be on the test.

II. Perimeter and Area (1.6) pg. 32

          A. Students must memorize and apply these formulas, these will not

              be on the test!

Square: A = s², P = 4s, Rectangle: A = lw, P = 2l + 2w

          B. Find perimeter of a rectangle or square when given length, width or

              Side, or from drawing with measurements  (see ex. 1 pg. 32)

          C. Find area when given length, width, or side, or from drawing with

             Measurements (see ex. 2 pg. 33)

          D. Understand difference between area and perimeter
